Did anyone purchase Grand Coda yet? For you kids that don’t know what that is, it’s Chiodos’s re-release of their album Bone Palace Ballet which followed All’s Well That End’s Well. It includes four new songs:

◊ Two Birds Stoned At Once
◊ …And Then The Liver Screamed “HELP!”
◊ We Swam From Albatross The Day We Lost Kailey Cost
◊ Smitten For The Mitten

With acoustic releases of I Never Said I Was Powerful, I Said I Was A Wizard, and A Letter From Janelle. The CD/DVD also includes in-studio footage, behind the scenes videos, live performances, and a trailer for the full length DVD yet to be released later this fall.

It sounds excellent right? I think so. But some fans are not so sure. One fan on AbsolutePunk.net said,

Though I am indeed a fan of this band I am actually angry about the re-release. New tracks, fine cool, my problem is they fucking redid the track order with the new songs, making Bone Palace Ballet seem unfinished. AND one of the best songs on the damn album is not on Grand Coda (Teeth The Size of Piano Keys), so I don’t know if I’m going to buy this.”

To anyone who buys it, tell us how it is. Craig Owens is pretty inspiring to me. Even after recovering from his attempted overdose on Xanax back in July. To you hardcore undying devoted Chiodos fans, you remember that right? Me too. To you kids who have no clue as to what I’m ranting about:

Craig: I have been battling with manic depression, bipolar disorder, and constant anxiety attacks for years. This disease has caused me to hide in my bedroom for weeks at a time, push away the most important people in my life, and learn to hate myself even. I have tried to remain strong through the years, fighting off urges and using the undying support of my fans, friends, family, and loved ones to turn my depression into an art- a music to share with the world. I also have been speaking with a therapist for around a year now, maybe more. This has helped me to come in touch with who I am as a human being and why I do the things that I do. Rationalizing my imperfections and trying to wear them as if they were badges of honor is something that I had learned to pride myself off of – until this incredibly selfish and stupid act I pulled.”
