TV/TV Call it Quits

Posted by Jordan Mix

Frontman Josh Ocean has announced the break-up of his New York City based band, TV/TV.  “I have recently made the decision to dissolve the band TV/TV and continue making music with my new project. It was not an easy decision. TV/TV was such an important part of my life for so long. Through my work with TV/TV I had amazing experiences, met amazing people and had many dreams come true. However the events of the past year had snowballed the band into a position that continued to drain me emotionally and my love for making music. Problems with our record label, management company and other circumstances completely out of our control caused me to lose sight what I was really trying to do as an artist and musician. I had been struggling with trying get TV/TV on a different track. I realized that what I want and what TV/TV was were two different things. It was not fair to myself to try and force something that was not. It was not fair to the fans of the TV/TV music that I let it be forgotten and pushed aside because of my new musical pursuits. Through the struggles of the past year I reconnected with many aspects of myself, especially musically and it has been truly wonderful. Doc and I are forming a new group and are currently recording our debut ep to be released in June. I am as excited today about making music as I was 5 years ago when I started TV/TV. I want to deeply thank you for all of your support over the years. Each and everyone of you has meant more to me that you know. I look forward to sharing my new music with you very soon.

PEACE.LOVE.ROCK

-Josh Ocean”

Anti-Flag Blamed for Arizona Shooting

Posted by Jenn Aguinaldo

Last week in Tucson, Arizona, Jared Loughner opened fire with a semi-automatic on a crowd of people at a political event. A previous classmate of Loughner later came out stating that Jared at a time listened to political punk band Anti-Flag whose lyrics inspired the name of the site you’re currently on. Alternative Press shared an exlusive interview with lead singer Justin Sane who claims that this act of violence is far from what Anti-Flag stand for.

Were you aware of the news when the incident happened?
Yeah, I saw it on the evening news. It was very moving and very chilling. I’m not ashamed to admit I actually teared up watching the news report. It was pretty bad.

When did you first hear your name being pulled into the story?
My sister called me that night. I was driving home around 11 p.m., and she informed me that a former classmate of the shooter had reportedly said something about Anti-Flag. Obviously, it was a real surprise because Anti-Flag are this band that for over a decade have been committed to Read More

Members leave Paramore

Posted by Jenn Aguinaldo

“Don’t want to hear your sad songs, I don’t want to feel your pain, when you swear it’s all my fault, cause you know we’re not the same.”

Paramore has released their official statement on their website yesterday announcing the departure of two members of the band, guitarist Josh Farro and drummer Zac Farro. In the past, lead singer Hayley Williams was in a relationship with Josh that ended badly, causing the band to nearly breakup. These internal issues also led to a cancellation of a part of their European tour back in 2008. The band attempted to keep their relationship a secret, but finally came out with what really happened in one of the 2010 issues of Alternative Press. Although not every detail of their relationship rose to the surface, one can still learn all he needs to know about it in a majority of the song lyrics on their album Brand New Eyes. The past few years were a hectic one for the band, from the secret breakup, to Hayley’s naked Read More
